With the amount of challenges that 2020 has brought, there has never been a more important time to check in on our mental health, and to discuss this issue and push the agenda to understand that poor mental health is something we are all susceptible to.  </p><p><br></p><p>For this episode, Chi and Basma talk to Agnes Mwakatuma, founder of Black Minds Matter, and Dr Rupy Aujla (aka The Doctor's Kitchen) about their own experiences with mental health and why the stigmas still exist within black and brown communities. From religious cultures and household matriarchs, to the eurocentric models of mental health care in the UK, our guests share guidance and solutions to help bring more healthy conversations about mental well being.  </p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Unpretty Podcast  </strong></p><p><a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/unprettypodcast/   \" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">https://www.instagram.com/unprettypodcast/   </a></p><p><a href=\"https://twitter.com/unprettypodcast    \" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">https://twitter.com/unprettypodcast    </a></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Black Minds Matter</strong></p><p><a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/blackmindsmatter.uk/  \" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">https://www.instagram.com/blackmindsmatter.uk/  </a></p><p><a href=\"http://blackmindsmatter.co.uk/  \" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">http://blackmindsmatter.co.uk/  </a></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Dr Rupy Aujla</strong></p><p><a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/doctors_kitchen/  \" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">https://www.instagram.com/doctors_kitchen/  </a></p><p><a href=\"https://www.thedoctorskitchen.com  \" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">https://www.thedoctorskitchen.com  </a></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Bristol Cable: Misunderstood and excluded: How to build mental health services fit for diverse c<a href=\"https://thebristolcable.org/2020/10/misunderstood-and-retraumatised-black-services-users-speak-out-about-their-experiences-of-mental-health-provision-bristol/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">ommunities - https://thebristolcable.org/2020/10/misunderstood-and-retraumatised-black-services-users-speak-out-about-their-experiences-of-mental-health-provi</a>sion-bristol/   </p><p><br></p><p>British Vogue: Your Black Friends Are Still Exhausted, Check On Their Ment<a href=\"https://www.vogue.co.uk/arts-and-lifestyle/article/black-exhaustion-mental-health\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">al Wellbeing - https://www.vogue.co.uk/arts-and-lifestyle/article/black-exhaustio</a>n-mental-health   </p><p><br></p><p>Matt Haig, Reasons <a href=\"https://blackwells.co.uk/bookshop/product/Reasons-to-Stay-Alive-by-Matt-Haig-author/9781782116820\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">to Stay Alive - https://blackwells.co.uk/bookshop/product/Reasons-to-Stay-Alive-by-Matt-Haig-auth</a>or/9781782116820  </p><p><br></p><p>#IAMWHOLE founded by Jordan Stephens - <a href=\"https://www.whole.org.uk/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">https://www.whole.org.uk/</a> </p>","author_name":"Unpretty Podcast"}
