Nick was at Dulwich College between 1983 and 1990, and by his own admission he was not an early achiever but discovered a love for economics in the sixth form as a result of some inspirational teaching.
After a taking a degree in Economic History at Exeter University he entered the City, working for Dutch bank ABN Amro, leaving to join Deutsche Bank in 1998. With the temperament and drive to thrive in the complex and competitive world of finance he flourished, becoming Managing Director in his early thirties and eventually spending the next seventeen years at the company. Nick was less well prepared though for the tragic death of his son in 2006, and he speaks candidly about how this period of his life affected him both personally and professionally.
Nick has always had a strong sense of civic responsibility and the charity he set up in his son’s name has been responsible for regranting some £6m to help the most marginalised children across the world. He has also found the time to work with the Home Office on county lines and knife crime, as well investing in Chorus: a Police Intelligence Company that was involved in the search for the Ariana Grande bombing at the Manchester Arena.
In the little spare time that he has, Nick is a cricket aficianado and passionate supporter of Aston Villa football club.
