We’re back in person and back in the East End of London for this week’s episode with composer, lyricist, pianist and musical director Theo Jamieson.
Seb and Verity chat to Theo about his new musical which has been commissioned by BBC World Service, U.Me - written for radio and podcast. The whole thing was put together in 7 weeks so Theo talks crazy work schedules, cutting out procrastination and the art of delegation.
They also discuss Theo’s route into music, a musical which brought together the unlikely combo of Imelda Marcos, David Byrne and Fatboy Slim and his latest work which he describes as a ‘Sci Fi song cycle’.
Theo talks about his love of Sondheim and epic orchestrations, plus his work as a musical director on West End shows including Funny Girl and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
