When an intergalactic flight makes an emergency departure from Earth for fear of discovery, the alien visitors leave behind one of their own - a stumpy, long-necked, wide-eyed, curious explorer who winds up hiding out in the backyard of 10-year-old Elliot (Henry Thomas).
