Instead I spent years powering through, pushing it away and minimising how bad things were until eventually it all caught up with me and I had no choice but to address it.</p><p>This podcast was prompted by the response to the video I posted on #IGTV about my mental health and as not everyone who follows me on social listens to the show - and vice versa - I wanted to share that audio again as the second half of the episode. It also contains the five books that I have found most helpful in understanding my own mental health issues but also understanding other people and what they may be going through too.</p><p>The books featured are:&nbsp;</p><p>Lost Connections by <a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/johann.hari/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">@johann.hari</a></p><p>The Four Tendencies by <a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/gretchenrubin/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">@gretchenrubin</a></p><p>You Are a Badass by <a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/jensincero/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">@jensincero</a></p><p>First, We Make the Beast Beautiful by <a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/_sarahwilson_/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">@_sarahwilson_</a></p><p>How to Survive the End of the World by <a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/technicallyron/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">@technicallyron</a></p><p>To find this episode simply click the link in my bio or type ‘The Emma Guns Show’ into your preferred podcast platform.</p><p>To join the closed Facebook group for the podcast click here &gt;&gt; <a href=\"https://www.facebook.com/groups/1583855258373361/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Emma Guns Show Forum</em></a>.</p><p>To follow me on social media &gt;&gt; <a href=\"https://twitter.com/emmaguns\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter</a> | <a href=\"https://www.instagram.com/emmaguns/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram</a>.</p>","author_name":"Emma Gunavardhana"}
