With this Friday commemorating Veterans Day 2022, we’re celebrating our own Mississippi Veterans. The 2021 and 2022 Hattiesburg Veterans of the Year, Col. (Ret) Joseph Kinnan, U.S. Air Force and Sergeant 1st Class (Ret), Nelson Haskin, Jr., with the Army National Guard, join the show to discuss their honors, lives, and legacies. Colonel (Ret) Sheila Varnado, Chair of the Hattiesburg Veteran of the Year Selection Committee, also joins in to talk about the events surrounding their celebration of the holiday, including a 24-hour vigil, Parade and Ceremony honoring the city’s unsung heroes. This episode also recognizes our very own MPB Veteran Hosts and Employees for their service to our country.
Marshall Ramsey, a nationally recognized, Emmy award winning editorial cartoonist, shares his cartoons and travels the state as Mississippi Today’s Editor-At-Large. He’s also host of a \"Now You're Talking\" on MPB Think Radio and \"Conversations\" on MPB TV, and is the author of several books. Marshall is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and a 2019 recipient of the University of Tennessee Alumni Professional Achievement Award.
