Pediatric Neurosurgeon, Dr. John Jay Wellons has been in practice for more than twenty-one years. But time has not amassed anywhere near the footprint that he has, in world pediatrics. Born and raised in southern Mississippi, Dr. Wellons’s passion for healing has led him from the University of Mississippi Medical School in Jackson to the head of pediatric neurosurgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He joins the show today to discuss his 2022 book, “All That Moves Us: A Pediatric Neurosurgeon, His Young Patients, and Their Stories of Grace and Resilience,” life as a pediatric neurosurgeon in a post Roe v. Wade society and growing up in Mississippi.
