His voice is as familiar as the racing drivers he worked with, with classic lines such as “Felipe Baby Stay Cool” and “Fernando is Faster than you”. Rob Smedley is the former Head of Vehicle Performance at the Williams F1 Team, before that he was of course Felipe Massa’s race engineer at Ferrari until they collectively hopped across to the British team.
He can now be found providing expert technical consultancy to Formula One and at the helm of his own, grassroots all-electric karting series hoping to make the sport more affordable for youngsters looking to take their first steps up the motorsport ladder.
