Students Against Israeli Apartheid has seen steady growth across Canadian university campuses. Focused on Palestinian solidarity by furthering the goals of the Boycott, Divestment Sanctions Movement (BDS), the group has invested in public education, demonstrations highlighting colonial violence and calls for Canadian universities to divest from companies benefiting from Israeli apartheid and the ongoing occupation of Palestinian land.
Moe Alqasem is a Biomedical science student and an activist from Students Against Israeli Apartheid at York University, a member of the YUdivest Coalition and a community organizer in the Palestinian and Arab community. He is a member of the Palestinian Youth Movement and a co-founder of the Association of Progressive Palestinian Canadians and Campuses for Palestine.
