Larry Morrisey talks with Nasheet Waits and JD Allen, two New York City-based jazz musicians with family roots in Mississippi. Waits and Allen talk about their years as students of music and their hopes for building community with music. They recently played a series of performances and master classes in Jackson as part of a grant program bringing jazz professionals to the south.
