Sarah Story talks with Maurice Carlos Ruffin, an author and the 2020-2021 John and Renee Grisham Writer-in-Residence at The University of Mississippi. He is the author of \"We Cast a Shadow,\" which was a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award, the PEN/Open Book Award, and the Dayton Literary Peace Prize and long-listed for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize and International Dublin Literary Award. His latest book “The Ones Who Don’t Say They Love You” is a collection of stories set in New Orleans. He and Sarah talk about his residency, new book, and life as an attorney turned writer.
