Where gains are broadly shared. Where the economy is stable, not just strong. Where our industries are globally competitive. Where we have a strong and vibrant middle class. Where we run our economy on clean energy and we bring down carbon emissions. And where we move beyond longstanding inequities.</p><p>\"And so, we at the CEA, we help the president as he is thinking about the economics behind how we're going to do this. And so, today's conversation, what I want to spend the next little bit of time talking to you about, is about the president's economic blueprint to reach his goals — what motivated it, what it is, why we believe that the evidence shows us that it'll be effective and what successes that we're already seeing.\"</p><p>This talk was co-sponsored by the <a href=\"https://ls.berkeley.edu/news/economy-and-society-initiative-launch-uc-berkeley-0\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Berkeley Society and Economy Initiative</a>, <a href=\"https://n2pe.berkeley.edu/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">the Network for a New Political Economy</a>, the <a href=\"https://ls.berkeley.edu/UC-Berkeley-Stone-Center\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Stone Center on Wealth and Income Inequality</a>, and <a href=\"https://live-ssmatrix.pantheon.berkeley.edu/events/the-modern-american-industrial-strategy-building-a-clean-energy-economy-from-the-bottom-up-and-middle-out/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Social Science Matrix</a>.</p><p><a href=\"https://news.berkeley.edu/2023/06/16/berkeley-talks-heather-boushey/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Listen to the episode and read the transcript on <em>Berkeley News</em></a> (news.berkeley.edu).</p><p><a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Heather_Boushey,_CEA_Member.jpg\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Executive Office of the President of the United States photo via Wikimedia Commons.</a></p><p><a href=\"https://www.sessions.blue/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Music by Blue Dot Sessions.</a></p>","author_name":"UC Berkeley"}
