Plante begins by describing his own background in independent film and how he became interested in Louis Sher. He explain who Sher was and how he came to create an empire of independent movie theaters in the 1950s. He the describes the circumstances surround the arrest of Sher's employee Nico Jacobellis for projecting Louis Malle's The Lovers, and how Sher litigated the case all the way to the Supreme Court and won, prompting Justice Stewart's famous line, \"I know it when I see it.\" Plante is on Twitter
