When a Gestalt Insurance op is murdered, Chief Armstrong of Seattle BOP helms an in-house investigation. The search leads to the lairs of two dangerous men who prove to be connected: Ringo, a brutal crime lord who runs a high-end auto theft ring, and Jazz Allman, a star-obsessed mystery writer who's grown eager to put into practice all he's learned about murder and crime. When Jazz mistakes the diminutive Chief for Lieutenant Columbo, a bloody game of cat and mouse ensues.
And Chief must prove that he can stand toe to toe with any killer's fantasy.
