Ian Goggins is Executive Vice President and Partner at Blue Fox Entertainment, where he works across film distribution, acquisitions and the company’s growing physical media business. A lifelong film and music enthusiast, Goggins has spent his career helping connect audiences with distinctive films while building relationships with filmmakers, distributors and industry partners.
Most recently, he has been closely involved in the launch of Cinema Cellar, Blue Fox Entertainment’s new Toronto retail and online destination for physical media. The project grew in part from the remarkable response to the Criterion Collection’s mobile Closet at the Toronto International Film Festival, where thousands of film lovers, many of them under 30, demonstrated a renewed enthusiasm for collecting and owning movies.
For Goggins, physical media represents something beyond simply owning a film. Collections reflect our tastes, memories and emotional relationships with the movies that have shaped us. He is particularly interested in the community that develops around collecting and in the care labels such as Criterion bring to restoration, presentation, supplemental material and packaging.
A passionate collector himself, Goggins counts films including The Princess Bride, Trainspotting and Dazed and Confused among personal favourites.
