That question asked by our previous guest <a href=\"https://9to5.cc/raquel-maestre-returns-gpys-294/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Raquel Maestre back in episode 294</a>.</p><p>Anyone who listens to us over on <a href=\"https://9to5.cc/category/9to5-entertainment-system-montreal-podcast/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">9ES</a> knows that I’m a huge fan of comic books. I have read a&nbsp;<em>lot</em> of comics in my time from mainstream comics to small indie zines. So it’s with at least some degree of authority that I can tell you that “The Jellyfish” by Boum is one of the best books I’ve read in a very long time. Sarah (who is co-hosting this episode) doesn’t read nearly as many comics as I do but she is also sometimes harder to please – so it’s a double recommendation that Sarah enjoyed “The Jellyfish” so much that she wants to re-read it again after blasting through the entire thing in a single sitting.</p><p>We were extremely lucky to sit down with Boum at the back of our usual haunt Grumpy’s to talk about “The Jellyfish”, comic books, the Quebec health care system, animation and eyesight. This is an extremely fun episode so sit back and enjoy!</p><p>If you’re in Montreal you’ll have two chances to meet up with Boum (and hopefully get yourself a signed copy of “The Jellyfish” in the process) – this May 9th at <a href=\"https://mtl.drawnandquarterly.com/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Drawn and Quarterly MTL</a> and the weekend of <a href=\"https://www.fbdm-mcaf.ca/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">May 24-26 at the Montreal Comic Arts Festival</a>. If you’re in the rest of Canada take a look below for the full lineup of Boum’s upcoming appearances this Spring promoting ‘The Jellyfish”.</p><p><img src=\"http://9to5.cc/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/GPYS-Boum.png\"></p><ul><li>April 12-14: <a href=\"http://festival\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Québec BD</a> (Quebec City, QC)</li><li>April 19-21: <a href=\"https://events.frye.ca/sites/frye/en/frye-festival-25th-edition\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Frye Festival </a>(Moncton, NB)</li><li>May 9: <a href=\"https://fb.me/e/41ynMBE6K\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Book Launch with Special Guest Arizona O’Neil at Librairie D&amp;Q</a> (Montreal, QC)</li><li>May 11-12: <a href=\"https://www.torontocomics.com/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Toronto Comic Arts Festival</a> (Toronto, ON)</li><li>May 18-19: <a href=\"https://www.vancaf.org/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Vancouver Comic Arts Festival</a> (Vancouver, BC)</li><li>May 24-26: <a href=\"https://www.fbdm-mcaf.ca/en/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Montreal Comic Arts Festival </a>(Montreal, QC)</li></ul><p><br></p><h1>Credit Where Credit is Due</h1><p>As always, a big thank you to the providers of our theme song: <a href=\"http://leighlandbeckman.com/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Leighland Beckman and Aural Turpitude</a>!</p><p><em>Keith does all sorts of things here on 9to5.cc, he works with the other founders on </em><a href=\"http://9to5.cc/?latestblogpost\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>9to5 (illustrated)</em></a><em>, co-hosts our two podcasts: The </em><a href=\"http://9to5.cc/9es\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>9to5 Entertainment System</em></a><em> and </em><a href=\"http://9to5.cc/gpys\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Go Plug Yourself</em></a><em> and sometimes blogs here as </em><a href=\"http://9to5.cc/category/perspicacious-geek/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Perspicacious Geek</em></a><em>.</em></p>","author_name":"9to5 (dot cc)"}
