After graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University with a B A (Hons) Early Childhood Studies First Class, lead to 30 years in education.</p><p>Diane worked as a Nursery teacher and Foundation Stage Leader until her retirement. However, she has bought all this experience into her writing.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Diane talks us through her series of award-winning books, including Be Happy to Be You, Be Proud to Be Blue, and We’re On Our Way to School.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Be Proud to Be Blue book has been awarded a Purple Dragonfly Award and is dyslexic inclusive. Baby Bird series of books helps start conversations with children about being self-aware, accepting who they are, and helping children develop their potential and celebrate their differences.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Diane's favourite quote \"Today you are you, That is truer than true. There is no one aliveWho is youer than you\" - Dr Seuss.</p><p><br></p><p>Diane's Top Tip: Picture books are a partnership between text and illustrations. The rhythm of the story has to sound right and children love to join in with repeated refrains.</p><p><br></p><p>We look forward to hearing Diane's next book in the Baby Bird series...
