He focuses on the intersections of social and life course identity development as a lens for meaning-making and in the prediction of educational, behavioral, and mental health outcomes. He received his PhD in applied psychology and human development and Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and his BA in communication and culture from Howard University. Overall, he seeks to develop complex models of human behavior which highlight the central role of identity development and socialization processes in behavioral patterns and social outcomes.
