We pull on Northrop Frye's Anatomy of Criticism and Joseph Campbell's work about \"monomyth.\" But, you know us, we hate letting boring old white guys go unchecked, so we also review works by Alise M. Wisniewski and Na’amen Gobert Tilahun who unpack the function of “chosen one” narratives in popular culture.
