DIVA Magazine's September cover star, the comedian and actress Abbi Jacobson, talks to Nic Crosara about her smash hit TV series A League of Their Own.
Along with playing the central character Carson Shaw, Abbi also co-created the show. Re-booted from the classic 1992 film with Madonna and Geena Davis, A League of Their Own depicts the real life WWII All-American professional women's baseball league.
Abbi discusses the lack of labels back in the 1940's, the evolution of women of colour in sport, and putting her own personal queer stories into her writing.
Abbi also co-created and co-starred in the multi Emmy Award nominated Broad City, and voiced Katie in the robot apocalypse romp Mitchells vs the Machines.
