Since moving to LA, I’ve begun to realize just how much we’ve normalized this pursuit of becoming the most visually attractive versions of ourselves. And discovering Reddit channels like HowToBeHot have only emphasized the fascination. But why are we so obsessed with hotness and who exactly is writing the rule book? Well, I had to hit up the one and only Darian Symoné Harvin to help me break it all down. As one of my favorite Naked Beauty guests and beauty reporters, Darian and I sat down to discuss lip flips and buccal fat removal, question what’s really considered obsessive when it comes to beauty, break down the socioeconomic power behind your hotness, and share our own beauty “maxxing” tips.
