This week's episode was on 2010's The Secret World of Arrietty and it was a very nice and welcome surprise. Generally, we aren't huge fans of the craziness with faces and animation that usually comes with Ghibli, but this one actually kind of resonated with us. The visuals are beautiful like always, but the detail in how the borrowers move around and live was very cool to see.Want to join us live? This week's choice was 2023's Shangri-La Frontier follows our main character Rakurou Hizutome, or Sunraku as his ign. He takes a break from his hobby of playing trash games to play the god game known as SLF, or Shangri-La Frontier. I do remember at first not being interested when I saw the trailer of this anime, but I can definitely say I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out!Want to join us live? I know, this episode is a week late and we apologize! Short version, we had technical difficulties for a week and a half but now everything is fixed and we are back on schedule! Buddy Daddies was a recommendation from Mark, and man was it a surprise; Artsy and I were not expecting it to turn out the way it did but we were thoroughly engaged. This week Artsy and I jumped back into the world of Mashle, and man was it fun! Season 2 of Mashle is definitely more focused than the first one as it mainly follows Mash on his journey/trials while taking the Divine Visionary Exam parts. Apologies for the late upload on this one, had some issues with the editing of it. This episode was a random pick by yours truly, 2019's Promare. This movie was about individuals fighting other individuals who have fire powers and like to set things ablaze, and one firefighter whose soul is always on fire to put fires out! This week we reviewed Mark's recommendation of Netflix's My Happy Marriage and were even lucky enough to have him join on the episode! This anime tackles emotional trauma in a very well-written and real way; it makes you hate the abusers and really feel for Miyo, the main character, as she struggles with her confidence and self-worth. I highly recommend this anime if you are looking for a nice love story with some interesting subplots!Want to join us live?
