An Album Party

This week I'm joined by Eilidh Pollard and Effy Hayle to talk about two spectacular cover-filled albums - Pure Imagination by internet music prodigy Jacob Collier, and the iconic soundtrack to cinematic masterpiece Shrek 2. This week I was able to catch up with two incredibly talented musicians from my school days, drummer Greg Burns and bassist/producer Jake Bentley, to talk about something we've all been desperately missing for the last year - live music. The intimate, live-style recordings of Big Thief guitarist Buck Meek's 'Two Saviors' meets jazz fusion classic 'Heavy Weather' by Weather Report as we also discuss the UK modern jazz scene; the future of country music; and the artistic legacy of The Wiggles.

Comedian and opera fundraiser Freya Dawes, and one half of the notorious sketch duo 'Jackman and Bones' Ollie Jones join me this week for a wonderful chat about our Heroes - particularly Robbie Williams, and his iconic Johnny English theme song 'Man For All Seasons'. They also argue for some pretty great records as Janelle Monae's dystopian concept album Dirty Computer takes on the super hip-hop soundtrack of Into The Spiderverse in the most ambitious crossover of music podcast history.
