Cryptozoology is the study of unknown or undiscovered animals. Searching for unknown animals is not, in itself, considered pseudoscientific. New species are discovered on a regular basis, and while the discovery of large animals is extremely rare, the existence of a previously unknown species of wild bovine in Vietnam was confirmed as recently as 1992.
