Alright, Take 5 Podcast - "Start A New Horse" with Louie and Norm (Mondoshawan, ex All That Bleeds)

Season 1, Ep. 9

Welcome to the Alright, Take 5 podcast! For this weeks episode I had the privilege to have both Louie Sublasky and Norman Najar back on the podcast to finish the story of the journey they have embarked together! If you don’t know already both Louie and Norm were formally from the band All that Bleeds and now play in the band Mondoshawan if you haven’t already please go back and listen to both Normans and Louies episodes so you can get more of an idea of what we’re talking about in this episode. So we start off where we left off in the Desert fish gang dad episode with Louie where he took on the challenge to join the band All That Bleeds and record a full album with them without knowing any of the material. We go into detail on how the album Of blood and machine from all that bleeds came to be. And we talk about the fall and demise of the band and how Mondoshawan came to be. We go into depth of Mondoshawans recordings and talk about how sometimes you have to shoot a dead horse to start a new one! I hope you guys enjoy this episode.

  • 10. Alright Take 5 Podcast - Gunk Punk (Lefty & The Cronies)

    01:47:58||Season 1, Ep. 10
    Welcome to the Alright, Take 5 podcast and for this weeks episode I had the privilege to sit down and talk to Lefty Loosey from Lefty & the Cronies. Which is the band playing in the background right now this is the song Jitters. We talked about how he got into listening and making music and how this project got started. We talked about the sound and imagery of the band and the relevance of his lyrics that touch on a lot of controversies that go on in today’s world. We got into detail about the making and release of his most popular music video and song Coontown and all the negative backlash that followed with it. Sorry about the camera dying halfway through the podcast that’s my bad but lefty was kind enough to send more pictures and videos to fill in the rest of the episode. I hope you guys enjoy this episode and if you haven’t already please go check out Lefty & the Cronies I’m a big fan and I’m sure you’ll become one too it’s such a unique blend of some of my favorite genres. It’s a little bit metal, core, punk, but all Gunk! Make sure to add some extra Lefty sauce and let’s kick the music and start the show!
  • 8. Alright Take 5 Podcast - A Manifestation of Unrealistic Reality with Dave Bunny Moran (Five3Nine3, Hereafter the Wave, 333)

    02:28:44||Season 1, Ep. 8
    This weeks episode I had the one and only David Moran aka Bunny. For those of you who don’t know Dave then you must be living under a rock but he’s known for playing bass for Five3Nine3, Hereafter the wave, and the Pantera tribute band 333. You also might have seen Bunny running sound for your gigs and favorite shows over at the rock house and other venues, in other words Bunny is the fucking man! And I had so much fun recording this episode with one of my favorite people in our little metal music community.  We started talking about how he is a listener of the podcast which I am absolutely flattered and great full for everyone who does. We talked about the artistic itch and the process of manifesting the unrealistic to reality, and Bunny shared many stories with us such as meeting the legendary Lemmy, how His old band Five3Nine3 got its name and the possibility of a reunion. There’s so much great stuff on this episode so enough of me talking, I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did recording it now let’s hit the music and start this very special Easter BUNNY episode! See what I did there?
  • 7. Alright, Take 5 Podcast - Desert Fish Gang Dad with Louie Sublasky (Mondoshawan, All That Bleeds, Garden of Thorns)

    01:23:33||Season 1, Ep. 7
    Welcome back everyone to another episode of the Alright Take 5 podcast! For this episode I had the privilege of having the one and only Louie Sublasky. Louie is the bassist and vocalist for the band Mondoshawan which is playing in the background right now. He is also known for formally playing bass for All That Bleeds and Garden of Thorns. I had so much fun recording this episode with Louie where we talked about how he started playing music, we dug up some bones going back to the past and going in depth with his old band Garden of Thorns and his journey leading him to playing with the guys from All That Bleeds which later on brings us to his current band Mondoshawan. Now unfortunately this episode gets cut short because yours truly is a dumb ass and forgot to clear up my memory card and forgot to carry an extra one. My bad guys but this episode will just lead us to a definite part 2 with Louie and Norm who was nice enough to lend us his home to record the podcast and be the guy to help google our nonsense! Thanks a lot Norm! Enough of me rambling along let’s hit the music and get to the episode!
  • 5. Alright Take 5 Podcast - Polyrhythm Polyglot with Manny Lozano (Triumph Over Shipwreck, Hunhau Mitnal, i-Artifact)

    01:28:29||Season 1, Ep. 5
    This week I had the pleasure to have the polyrhythm polyglot Manny Lozano. If you know Manny then you already know he is a phenomenal guitar player. You’ll recognize his work from local juggernauts that was Triumph Over Shipwreck, his experimental/post black metal band Hunhau Mitnal, his progressive band i-Artifact, and you might have seen him around town playing with his jazz project Footprints. Yea he plays in a metallic hardcore band, black metal band, progressive band and on top of all that he plays jazz guitar! If you haven’t already please do yourself the favor and go listen to all his projects all of which are available to stream on Spotify all the bands are done so well and are very different from one another it’s hard to believe it is written by the same guy. So I got the chance to pick Manny’s brain a bit and see how such a talented and prolific musical mind like his own works. We got into his wide range of influences, how he prepares and practices  and gave myself some wise and inspirational words. No lie right after he left from doing the podcast I went straight to practicing and playing guitar. I hope you guys enjoy this episode

    On this episode of the Alright, Take 5 Podcast I had my friend and one of the best musicians I’ve had the pleasure to know Hector C! Hector was the guitarist and vocalist for the band Five3Nine3 and currently the guitarist for the band Hereafter the Wave and the Pantera tribute band 333. On top of all that he’s also a music engineer, sound man and just all around great dude. We talked about our love for the band Crowbar and we just started jamming along to some of our favorite bands which was a lot of fun. We went on a deep dive on his influences, how he got started playing and recording music and stories about ghost, spirits and tones! Big thanks for Hector for coming on and of coarse to all of you who have tuned in to this weeks episode!
