Almost Canon
A History of the Yeti
This week we dive into the history behind one of cryptozoologies oldest cryptids....the yeti!
We start by going over a story I received from a listener, which took place in the Bennington Triangle. This listener was bear hunting in Bickford Hollow as a child, when he spotted something high in a tree.
We then dive into the history of the Yeti going over several historical encounters as well as the three different types of "yeti" cryptids that are seen in the area and so much more!
To help Almost Canon grow, please leave a rating and a review. We are an independent podcast trying to grow a community from the ground up and we need all the support we can get to make this thing work!
With your monetary support we can purchase new equipment as well as take Almost Canon on the road. There are several haunted hotels we'd like to investigate and podcast from like the Omni Mount Washington Resort, home of the infamous Bretton Woods Confrence and the Manchester Resort and Spa, where Mrs. Lincoln is still said to reside. Plus so many others! To donate to our GoFundMe, click the link below. All funds go back into the show:

167. Project: Tabaldak and the Bennington Triangle
01:20:18||Season 1, Ep. 167As i was recently on another show, sharing what i know about the Bennington Triangle, I thought it would be a good idea to revisit the Tabaldak Connection, but in a much more refined way. This story is the culmination of a years' worth of research and deals with secret government projects, sleeping Nephilim giants, pre-Columbian contact, cursed mountains and missing people. If you want answers as to what's going on in the Bennington Triangle then this is an episode you won't want to miss!
166. Hunted By A Dogman While Bow Hunting
01:17:41||Season 1, Ep. 166This week we talk with W. Boyd, who came face to face with a dogman one morning, while bow hunting with his father. The two had started their trip by parking in a lot near a piece of property they owned and began walking into the woods. It wasn't long until Boyd began hearing something something them. It would walk when they walked and stopped when they stopped. He pointed this out to his father, who couldn't hear that good, but they continued on to their hunt. But it didn't take long for Boyd to figure out what was following them because it was already at his hunting spot, seemingly waiting there for him! This is one of the best dogman encounters I've heard and the second dogman encounter we've heard where the individual was hunting. So sit back, relax and enjoy tonights episode of Almost Canon

162. Bigfoot in the Green Mountain State
01:01:52||Season 1, Ep. 162This week we talk about Bigfoot in Vermont otherwise known as the Green Mountain State. Vermont is one of the smallest states in the Union but it is incredibly wooded. At 4.5 million acres of forested land and about 78% of the state, it's no doubt Sasquatch have been reported in Vermont for hundreds of years. we'll start by going over some of the more well known encounters and then dive into a book by Jason Lorefice called Vermont Bigfoot Encounters and Beyond, where we find some pretty interesting information even I didn't know about.if your interested in purchasing Jason's book, here's the Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/Vermont-Bigfoot-Encounters-beyond-Lorefice/dp/1511621389
161. Hunted By The Wendigo
56:54||Season 1, Ep. 161As winter firmly wraps it's icy fingers around us, I thought it would be more than appropriate to dive into three first hand encounters that deal with one of cryptozoologies most misunderstood entities....the Wendigo. So this week, as we come back from our hiatus, we kick the new year off with three incredibly chilling stories. The first deals with a hunter, who is in turn, hunted by the creature, while hunting deer in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The second is a story about a stranded snowmobiler who comes face to face with something he had heard about since childhood and the last story deals with a young man, coming home for winter break only to find that his parents have captured something and are holding it captive in the family barn. i hope you enjoy these stories and the bits and pieces of wendigo lore we discuss as we go. so please sit back, relax and enjoy tonight's episode of Almost Canon!Dont forget to leave a rating and a review! 01:39:53||Season 1Things have been crazy but the holiday season is just above over and we'll be able to return to our regular scheduled programming! Until then, here's a re-release of our fan favorite Christmas episode, which goes all the way back to the first year of Almost Canon. We cover all sorts of Christmas related traditions. Traditions that date back to Roman and Greek festivals, Saint Nick, even how ancient pagans tripped out on red and white mushrooms and had to enter their homes through the chimneys!
158. Portals in the Peaks: The Mysterious Disappearances of Erik Lewis and Carl Landers
41:00||Season 1, Ep. 158After hearing from friend of the show, Thom Pollard, and being told about an abandoned campsite found not too far from me, in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, I decided to cover two Missing 411 cases that have fascinated me for 15 years. Our first case takes place in Washington State and involves a climber who seemingly disappeared from the end of a climbing rope, almost as though he unclipped and stepped out into the sky. The second case involves a climber in California who vanished in broad daylight from the middle of an empty snow field on one of America's most mysterious Mountains.
