This week we bring back Christian from several episodes ago to talk about a strange property he has recently moved to. He's experiencing all sorts of different paranormal activity including hearing his name and his girlfriends name being called from somewhere in the woods below them as well as bluff charges that are coming from the same general location. This will most likely be an on going mystery that we'll be following closely, so stay tuned for more!

The beast of the Land Between the Lakes is one of cryptozoology’s most frightening and well known tales. It’s the story of a terrifying monster, one thats wondered the woods of the recreation area, long before it was called the ‘land between the lakes’.      So what is the story behind the beast of the land between the lakes, otherwise known as the beast of the LBL?     Well, It’s definitely become more than just a physical location on the map. The LBL has become synonymous with not only terrifying cryptid encounters but some of the most gruesome cryptid encounters anyone has yet heard of.  So this week we dive into the Land Between the Lakes and the beast that's said to roam its wilds. Now, you might think you know the whole story but there's more, way more! We've dug through subreddits and corroborating accounts to try and paint a better picture of what happened not only on that fateful day in 1982 but for what's been happening since before the LBL was even settled by European pioneers. I for one thought I knew the story and had no idea there was so much more! We start by going over the entire LBL story and how it's been received by the cryptid community and then we dive into the history of the LBL and the LBR. Then after all that we dig into the good stuff! We go over several encounters from the LBL, one of which we were able to find three different views, giving the listeners interested in this story a great look into what may have happened back in 1982.So if dogma is your thing and the beast of the LBL is something that interests you, this is an episode you won't want to miss!

On This weeks bonus Episode we pull an old trick out of the hat. Way back when we first started Black eyed kids was one of our first episodes and I have remastered the audio, breathing life back into this great OG episode. It falls at the end of this weeks episode, so please enjoy!

It’s halloween today. And on Halloween, there’s nothing better than telling scary stories. So we've decided to let the episode out a day early so you could enjoy these scary tales.Nick goes over two stories from Tony Urban's 'Beware of the Woods'the first is Cult Activity in Montana and the second is Unidentified Creature in Illinois.Nick then reads over what we believe could quite possibly be the scariest story ever told on the Internet or at least.This episode hits the ground running, especially for lovers of horror. so please enjoy your halloween and this weeks episode of Almost Canon.

While we’re not too fond of winter, spooky season is maybe our favorite time of year here at Almost Canon. Now my favorite part aren’t all the delicious smells; beautiful colors or the fact that we finally get to wear flannels and sweatshirts. No, my favorite part of the Halloween season are the movies!      Like, ya, sure, you can watch horror movies any time of year but there’s somthing special about watching scary movies on or before Halloween.  In fact, most horror movies take place in the summer, not the fall. There are very few scary movies that take place around Halloween. But that doesn’t matter, I literally fill September and October with horror movies. Nothing but horror movies. So what I wanted to do tonight was take a few of my favorites and go over the real life mysteries and true crime cases that inspired some of our favorite horror movies.      So I’ve taken a nightmare on elm street; Scream and the Shining.      The creators and writers of All three of these movies were inspired by something weird or horrific that’s happened in the real world.  But before we dive into the main topic, Nick has taken an old encounter we received on the show and turned it into story format. We’ll hear from Stephen who was bow hunting in Wyoming when he found had to seek shelter in an abandoned house during a rain storm. However, whoever or whatever resided within the home certainly didn’t want him there. While the small details have been created to add a sense of reality to the world, the events and how they happened haven’t been changed. But it’s a good one, just in time for Halloween! After Stephen’s story Nick recounts the true events that inspired ‘A Nightmare On Elm Street; Scream; and The Shining. These real life stories are incredibly strange as well as incredibly brutal. *WARNING* for all those going into the real life true crime case behind Scream, it is a horrific story.

This week Nick goes over his research on the Bennington Triangle and why the area seems to be so active with paranormal energies. This is a long, winding narrative that compiles mysterious stone ruins; ancient gods; Nephilim; pre-columbian contact and of course the Bennington Triangle into a story that explains how an old world ‘god’ found its way to the New World’.
