Almost Canon

On this super short episode of Almost Canon we talk about sea cryptos starting with a reported sea serpent off the coast of Brazil and going into several others sightings reported throughout history. We also talk briefly about the Seamonk also called the Seabishop, a little known type of sea serpent thought to be able to control the weather.

Now, I love paranormal tv. While I prefer shows dealing with ancient mysteries or cryptids , I’ve also seen every episode of Ghost Adventures, A ghost ruined my life, and the good, yet old school, paranormal witness. These shows are full of frightening paranormal stories and encounters with the unknown as well as paranormal investigators who act as both scientist and soldier, boldly going behind enemy lines to make contact with the other side, documenting their findings for others all while waging spiritual warfare when needed.      Now, tonight we talk with Natalie and Kate, two paranormal investigators and members of Wading into the Void. While they have their own hilarious podcast, it’s their paranormal investigations and supernatural experiences that really set these two apart. Everybody like a little escapism. History is full of myths and legends. In fact mankind has been recounting  their encounters with the unknown since the dawn of time.  Whether through the written word, oral traditions or even glyphs carved on stone, human beings have found a way to share their stories.      Now, we have seen myths and legends of all kinds. From gods and goddess to entirely new worlds and realms. We’ve read countless stories of epic quests, Buried treasures and dangerous monsters. But out of all the myths and legends we’ve seen throughout history, there are two that are repeated time and time again: the lost empire myth and the flood myth       The two myths are see in nearly every major culture around the world including ancient Egyptians, ancient Greeks, Indians, and as for the flood myths, there are something like 140 documented flood myths throughout the world. From Native American myths to the biblical story of Noah’s Arc. These legends are so similar that one might think they heard the same story and adopted their own version of it.      Now we may see these myths over and over again but we rarely see them together. However tonight’s story involves both of them,  the lost content and the world ending flood myth. We go over the history of the Naacal and their Empire of the Sun and then sort through the history books to see if we can find any other supporting evidence such as India's Atlantis, Dwarka and the story of Father Crespi and the mystery objects he was gifted throughout the mid 1900's. This week I had my plans fall through so instead of bring you a singled topic episode we're going to talk about a few different strange things with Mick Strange from the CrazyStrangeDaze podcast. These topics include; Enoch from the Book of Enoch; 40k year old lion men statues; ufo's, Native American carvings and giant burials, as well as a spider-like entity that a psychic friend of the show has seen inside our studio!

This week we talk with BJ, who hosts the up and coming Facebook page 'Extinct or Extant'. We focus on three cryptic creatures that could quite possibly be actual animals thought to be extinct. We take you to the island of Tasmania; to the mountains of Northern Africa; then to the jungles of the amazon. If Historical mysteries and mysterious animals are your thing this is an episode you won't want to miss! It’s estimated that 99.9% of all species that have ever existed on earth are now extinct. Whether through mass extinction events, evolution or the hands of man, millions if not billions of mammals, fish, birds, reptiles, dinosaurs, what-have you, have died out.     We all know this, it’s the circle of life after all. From the time we’re old enough to pick up a book about dinosaurs we learn about the chics-sue-lub asteroid that struck the earth about 66 million years ago, putting an abrupt end to the dinosaurs.      But dinosaurs certainly aren’t the only animal to die off, in fact before the extinction of the dinosaurs, 65 million years ago, there were 4 other mass extinction events and the latest one, the extinction of the megafauna occurred around 50k years ago.     Now where this discussion get real interesting is when we hear stories of people coming across animals that were suppose to be extinct or when we hear stories of cryptids that sound very similar to animals that once existed.      Personally I believe a good chunk of the cryptids out there today are exaggerations of animals that we thought died out long ago but are actually still alive and well, hidden away in areas if their habitat that are rarely visited.      An example of this would be the orang pendek, a small, Sasquatch-like being said to roam the forested island of Indonesia, exactly where homo floresiensis once walked, a small human-like being nicknamed ‘the hobbit’.       So tonight we’re gunna talk about some of these supposedly extinct animals that could be behind cryptid creatures.
