A Grown Up’s Guide To Heartbreak

It’s been a whirlwind of a week, featuring a trip to Switzerland, a 12-hour stint in the emergency room and – of course – the (sort of) reunion of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston at the SAG Awards. But what we’re really talking about this week is heartbreaks - heartbreaks of the big, earth-shattering, how-the-hell-do-I-get-over-this variety. How do you navigate a break-up in your late 20s, when it feels like everyone else is getting engaged and having babies? Are women conditioned to fear being alone? Why is it that single men are seen to be ‘choosing’ to be single, while single women are still seen as ‘unable’ to find a partner? And why do we continue to feel as if break-ups are personal failures?
