THANK YOU ERIN FOSTER with Kiki Weill and Natalie Pardo

I am smiling from ear to ear writing this show note because this week's episode is with my SISTER (Kiki) and my BEST FRIEND (Pardo) and we are talking about all of our takeaways from the Netflix show, Nobody Wants This, created by Erin Foster hence the title of the episode. In this episode we're recapping the show and talking about all the reasons we are so grateful this exists especially at this moment in time and get into relationship dynamics in general, religion/spirituality, familial dynamics, knowing yourself in order to deeply connect with another person, embodied men and so much more. FINGERS CROSSED this is the first of many together.

Also this is your SPOLER ALERT on the show if you haven't watch it yet <3

First 11 minutes of the show is intros/background on Kiki and Pardo

11 minute onward is the Nobody Wants This takeaways

  • Permission to REST

    17:33|
This week's solo is all about rest, giving yourself permission to rest/slow down, why it feels so uncomfortable and counter-culture to do so in this country and why choosing it is an act of resistance that helps build our inner trust muscle <3 Link to Lo's Episode: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/intuition-fascia-flow-and-liberation-with-lo-roxburgh/id1466712918?i=1000676472211Link to Beginning Again Episode: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/beginning-again-and-again-we-back/id1466712918?i=1000670388658Give the gift of Autobiographer using code ACTIVE20 for 20% off your subscription: https://www.autobiographer.com/gift
  • Intuition, fascia, flow and liberation with Lo Roxburgh

    56:15|
This week's episode is with returning guest, Lo Roxburgh, who is a world renowned fascia expert, author and movement educator. Her expertise is in fascia which is the layer of tissue directly beneath the skin that surrounds and supports muscles, organs, and other structures throughout the body. It plays a huuuuge role in how we alchemize stuck/old energy into liberation/expansion and is the communication network of the body (some also refer to fascia as the subconscious mind that lives underneath the skin). In this episode we are getting into the role fascia plays in our overall heath, tuning into our bodies, leaning into and trusting the feminine, sharpening our intuition, allowing for fluidity in both our bodies and our lives, the role emotional intelligence will play in the age of AI and so much more. I actually had another episode slated for this week but I decided to push this one up because at this moment in time learning how to listen to and lean on our own bodies/breath is truly one of if not the most important things for us to be prioritizing so that we can first and foremost process and then also take action in ways that feel aligned to us. • Enoughness, leaning into the feminine and showing up

    22:29|
I'm not gonna lie...I struggled heavy to get on the mic this week. I procrastinated it to the last moment and didn't know what I was going to talk about this week (was feeling majorly blocked) but what did come through when I finally sat down to record was that showing up to do it even though I wasn't feeling it/had no clue what I wanted this episode to be about is in and of itself the win and enough for me. In this episode I'm talking about accepting that showing up doesn't necessarily mean showing up 10/10 every second of every day, about leaning into and trusting the feminine, the general concept of enoughness and defining whatever that is FOR YOU and why.Autobiographer Link Here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/autobiographer/id6469733133Use code ACTIVE20 for 20% off your subscriptionLink to my IG: https://www.instagram.com/sophieiweill/

  • Living with grief while transforming it into purpose with Mimi Ghandour

    01:11:49|
This week's conversation is one of the most profound conversations I have honestly ever had in my life on or off the podcast. I'm joined by my friend and my yoga teacher Mimi Ghandour who is truly one of the strongest people I have ever known. Late last year on December 11th 2023, Mimi lost her beautiful 12 year daughter, Hala, who was born with a muscular disease that came with a life expectancy of 2 years old. While Hala's story is one of deep pain and grief it is also a story of unconditional and transcendent love. It's about unwavering faith, resilience and choice. It's about living with grief and allowing it to transform into even more purpose. And it's about showing up even when we have every excuse not to.For any of you listening that are going through/living with grief I am sending you so so much love. Mimi's first Active Ingredient Episode: Making hard choices for an easier lifeMimi's second Active Ingredient Episode: Stepping on your mat and into your powerConnect with Mimi Connect with Sophie
  • The Fear of Being Seen

    23:58|
We have a solo today and the theme of this week's show is about something that I think a lot of us can relate to, which is about the fear of being seen. It's a fear that is so deeply embedded in our systems and is one that takes bringing it to the surface, facing it and understanding it head on in order to move with/through it with the intent of no longer letting it stop us from being fully seen and fully known which turns out is actually the safest place to be in. • Processing in and through the body with Anne-Marie Duchêne

    01:04:23|
I cannot tell you how excited I am to share this week's episode with you. I've been dying to release it from the moment we finished the conversation. The guest of the show this week is Ann-Marie Duchêne who is my body worker who specializes in structural integration via fascial release (her specific schooling is called Hellerwork which we get into in the show). She spent the first 10 years of her career traveling the world for Cirque du Soleil as their first-ever Dance Specialist Artistic Talent Scout - scouting the globe for the best dance/vocal/music/clowning talent on the planet before embarking on her unprecedented career pivot into structural integration work and has been practicing and perfecting her craft for the past 20 years. In this episode we're getting into what processing in and through the body actually even means, what structural integration work is exactly, how to tune into our bodily cues, how everything in the body (and beyond) is interconnected and the role that fascia, which is our connective tissue that is the layer right beneath our skin, plays in the communication within the body. How to get in contact with Anne-Marie: artofalignmentacademy.com/contact/People/tools references:Ida Rolf: rolf.orgGil Hedley: gilhedley.comMelt Method/Sue Hitzmann: meltmethod.comLo Roxburgh: laurenroxburgh.comAmy Colesby California Practitioner: aimeekolsby.comHow to connect with me: IG: @sophieiweill Autobiographer App (use code: ACTIVE20 for 20% off your subscription): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/autobiographer/id6469733133
  • Beginning again. And again. WE BACK

    24:20|
Ahhhhh Active Ingredient is officially back! I MISSED YOU and doing this so much. Truly. Today's solo is an update on what's been going on with me since taking space from the pod, what to expect from the show moving forward, some big fat learnings I've had during this time, the importance of actually applying the the things that you're learning and experimenting with them, giving yourself (and myself) permission to begin again (and again and again and again), remembering why we do any of this work to begin with and doubling down on the things that feel TRUE/continuing to shed anything that no longer fits. ALSO - at the end of the episode I'm introducing our new presenting sponsor, Autobiographer (!!!) Autobiographer is the first-of-its-kind app that uses an AI guide to help you capture and preserve your life story. The app encourages self-reflection and personal growth by prompting you to record meaningful moments and insights of your daily life which could not be more aligned to the mission of this show!
