About ten minutes with PippaD

Strange things go on in my head. Well. This is the one where the title rather gives away the ending. This week, we're carrying on the story of Tumourthy. There have been scans, appointments, specialists and an awful lot of waiting, but eventually there was only one way to find out exactly what was growing in my liver. A biopsy. And this is the episode where I finally got the answer.It was cancer. More specifically, a neuroendocrine tumour. Which meant I finally knew what Tumourthy was, but there were still an awful lot of things we didn't know, including where it had actually come from and what on earth we were going to do about it. This week, we're going back to New Year's Eve 2024, when some slightly dodgy blood test results led to an ultrasound, an unexpected discovery in my liver and the beginning of a story I had absolutely no idea I was starting. At this point, nobody had said cancer. I didn't have a diagnosis. I didn't even technically have a tumour yet. I had a lesion, a doctor who didn't seem particularly worried, and quite a lot of previous experience with gallstones. Here is PippaD telling you what happened to her.
