10. How artist Alison Lapper turned grief into a force for good

She was the subject of the sculpture Alison Lapper Pregnant, which was displayed on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square from September 2005 until late 2007 and has appeared in numerous TV programmes including Child of our Time, No Body's Perfect and more recently was the subject of the BBC documentary In My Own Words.In 2021 Alison set up the charity Drug of Art, after losing her only son, Parys. The charity introduces art to young people to support their mental health.
