A Girl, a Gay & a Thermo
58. Salt n Pepa's Here
Salt. Pepper. The OG power couple.
This week we’re putting the ultimate seasoning duo front and centre—think crispy salt & pepper squid, rich Tuscan pepper beef, golden salt rosemary bread and a cheeky salted caramel sauce. We’re diving into salts, seasoning secrets and finishing it all off with a Bloody Mary (obviously). Simple ingredients, seriously iconic flavour.

1. A Girl, a Gay & a Thermo - Season 2, Episode 1
40:15||Season 2, Ep. 1Well. Hello Season 2.For anyone who’s new around here, we’re going back to the beginning — how we became friends, how this ridiculous podcast started, and why we’re still talking about dinner all these years later.Bronte is still somewhat phoning in dinner, while Erin is back in the kitchen with a new mac and cheese obsession and a very retro spin on risotto: apricot chicken. We’ve also been highly influenced by rice paper dumplings, attempt to recreate the sacred culinary institution that is Sizzler cheese toast, and finish with a recommendation involving… Cookie Monster. You’ll need to make it to the end for that one.Welcome to Season 2. We're baaaack!!!
42:37||Season 2We're Back! Our little two week break somehow turned into two months, so before Season 2 officially kicks off next week, we’ve got some catching up to do.Bronte has rudely moved to the other side of town, Erin has spent far too much time in hospitals and rehab after her dad broke his leg, Erin has entered her calisthenics-mum era, and Bronte has farewelled fashion and is officially looking for his next chapter (if you're hiring, Bronte has many skills). We also take a moment to remember some absolute icons we’ve lost while we’ve been away, before moving on to the things currently sparking joy — movies, getting out of the house, suspiciously perfect Airbnb cupboards and bowls… and, naturally, our ongoing fascination with gleefully despising Meghan Markle. Well, Erin is anyway. There is no food talk this week. None. We know. Shocking. This episode is purely tea, life updates and lols while we find our feet again.Season 2 starts properly next week. Same girl. Same gay. Same Thermo. New era. A Little Life Update
03:52||Season 1Hello gorgeous listeners,Just popping in with a little update from us.Life has gone a bit… sideways. Bronts is in the middle of moving house, and this week my dad had a fall and shattered his femur, so we’re suddenly spending a lot of time doing hospital runs, family things, and generally trying to work out what the new normal looks like for a minute. So, we’re pressing pause on the pod for a couple of weeks. We love this little show so much, and we love that you show up for our nonsense, our Thermo wins, our Thermo fails, and our deeply unnecessary opinions. But right now, real life needs us.I’ve recorded a little honest update for this week’s episode, so you’ll hear more there — but we didn’t want to just disappear without saying something here too. We’ll be back as soon as we can, probably slightly frazzled, absolutely full of feelings, and no doubt with some sort of hospital cafeteria review nobody asked for. Btw, I learned this week what 'Code Black' means in hospital. Yikes. Thanks for being patient with us. We love you.Ez & Bronts xx
69. 69. Erin's Greatest Hits
32:08||Season 1, Ep. 69If Cookidoo deleted everything tomorrow, what recipes would survive? This week it’s Erin’s turn to take the wheel and count down her all-time Thermomix greatest hits. From the recipe that made her go “holy sh*t” (hello, Bao Buns with Braised Pork Belly) to the weeknight heroes, the hidden gems and the recipes she recommends over and over again, Erin is sharing the dishes that have genuinely earned a permanent place in her kitchen.Expect traffic light salad, Dubai chocolate, pizza bianca, sous vide steak with hollandaise, the mac and cheese that saved dinner more times than she’d care to admit, and a surprise parmesan gelato that had everyone fooled.Plus, a secret bonus track featuring everyone’s favourite canned mystery meat.If the Thermomix gods wiped Cookidoo tomorrow, these are the recipes Erin would save first. 68. 68. Bronte's Greatest Hits
37:19||Season 1, Ep. 68This week, we’re handing Bronte the aux cord and counting down the recipes that have defined a generation. Well, his generation. From the chart-topping Bolognaise Rhapsody and Filo Me Softly to perennial favourites like Thai Green Chicken Curry, Mash for Two, Greek Broccoli and the encore that never disappoints, Chocolate Chip Cookies, we’re revisiting the recipes Bronts keeps coming back to time and time again. But this isn’t just a greatest hits album. We dig into the stories behind the recipes, the kitchen wins, the occasional disasters, and the dishes that have become part of Bronte’s food DNA.Also, after falling down a Loui Burke Instagram rabbit hole, we somehow end up discussing the correct way to make a bed. Is your bed made? Is it tucked properly? Are you even trying?Digitally remastered for superior flavour. As heard on A Girl, A Gay & A Thermo.Contains six recipes, one bed-making intervention, and absolutely no filler tracks. 67. 67. F*ck, It's Cold.
43:37||Season 1, Ep. 67Winter has officially arrived, and frankly, we’re not thrilled about it.This week we kick things off with the results of last week’s very important poll: what colour are Mark’s socks, and are we dealing with another blue/black white/gold dress situation? We also chat about the Kylie documentary and a slightly stroppy Russell Crowe. If you're not interested in our non-food piffle talk, jump ahead about 14 mins. Then it’s time to embrace comfort food season. We’re talking casseroles—can the Thermomix do the heavy lifting, or is this one for the oven? Plus, a special shout out to Bronte’s mum Heather, who was so ahead of her time she literally ran a casserole business in the 80s called Dial-a-Casserole. Heather, we bow down. Heather walked so Uber Eats could run.We also tackle the age-old question: what should you cook when you’re crook? From Erin’s homemade garlic and ginger “elixir” to surprisingly easy homemade chicken stock and broth, we’ve got your winter wellness covered. And because no winter episode would be complete without soup, we’re diving spoon-first into the ultimate loaded baked potato soup. Bacon, cheese, sour cream, chives, and enough topping variations to keep you warm until spring. So grab a blanket, put the kettle on, and join us for an episode packed with comfort food, winter survival tips, and the usual amount of nonsense.Stay warm, friends. 66. 66. Mince and Repeat
37:45||Season 1, Ep. 66Mince. The unsung hero of the weeknight dinner. Cheap, versatile, always available… and capable of so much more than bolognese, meatballs and burgers. This week, we’re giving mince the glow-up it deserves with smash burger tacos, pork and cabbage rolls, Mexican stuffed peppers, spiced lamb flatbreads and plenty of ideas to rescue you from your dinner rut. If you’ve got a packet of mince in the fridge and no inspiration, we’ve got you covered. We also tackle one of life’s most pressing questions: if you were a Thermomix mode, which one would you be? Are you a Slow Cook? A Turbo? Or something a little more chaotic?Plus, winter has arrived and so has the annual battle with the laundry. Drying clothes inside the house: practical necessity or absolute hate crime? We have thoughts. So grab your mince, your clothes horse and your strongest opinions. 65. 65. Highly Influenced
40:35||Season 1, Ep. 65This week on A Girl, a Gay and a Thermo, we’re diving into the viral food trends we simply HAD to Thermify. We’re talking the Skinnymixers dumpling lasagne (and yes, it absolutely lives up to the hype), sushi in every form imaginable — baked cups, sushi waffles, even sushi lasagne — plus everyone's obsession with cottage cheese (Bronte turns it into something actually delicious). Balsamic glaze gets a look in and why we suddenly want to drizzle it over everything.Along the way, we unpack the food trends we just can’t quit, the random online purchases Instagram convinced us we desperately needed, throw around some possible TM7 gossip and give Girl Dinner the respect it deserves.Basically: if TikTok made it famous, there’s a good chance we’ve either cooked it… or been influenced into buying it.Skinnymixers dumplig lasagnehttps://skinnymixers.com.au/guest-recipe-mezs-dumpling-lasagna/Baked feta pastahttps://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/a35421563/baked-feta-pasta-tiktok/Cottage cheese pizza basehttps://healthyfitnessmeals.com/cottage-cheese-pizza-crust/#wprm-recipe-container-89844(not the same recipe that Bronts talked about, but similar)Sushi ricehttps://cookidoo.com.au/recipes/recipe/en-AU/r207883Baked sushi cupshttps://cookidoo.com.au/recipes/recipe/en-AU/r933569Sushi waffleshttps://cookidoo.com.au/recipes/recipe/en-AU/r910760Sushi lasagneGo to the socials people, type in sushi lasagne and you'll get the idea :)Balsamic glazehttps://cookidoo.com.au/recipes/recipe/en-AU/r131293Caramelised balsamic reductionhttps://cookidoo.com.au/recipes/recipe/en-AU/r80122You can find Bronte and Erin at;https://www.instagram.com/a_girl_a_gay_and_a_thermo/https://www.instagram.com/illhavewhatshesmixinghttps://www.instagram.com/homo_with_a_thermo/
