Catechism Class: Lord's Day 19A Q50 The Glorified Christ
We are still, with the help of our instructor, working our way through the historic statement of Christian faith, known as ‘the Apostle’s Creed.’ The catechist includes it in section two of the catechism, - that section that deals with God’s Grace, his mercy directed to sinners, in saving them from their rebellion and sin, through the free gift of His Only Begotten Son, our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. It is all about Him, all about Christ, and what He has done for us. The Catechist exalts Him, and rightfully so, for we are taught in the scriptures that he is exalted, at the right hand of God the father.
So, we have reached Lord’s Day 19, and Q50 Why is it added, 'and sits at the right hand of God?' The answer we must give is: A. Christ ascended into heaven to manifest himself there as Head of his church, through whom the Father governs all things.

Psalm 110:3-6, with grateful thanks to www.ThePsalmsSung.org
3 When you display your power,
your people flock to you;
At dawn, arrayed in holiness,
your youth will come like dew.
4 Unchangeably the LORD
with solemn purpose swore:
“Just like Melchizedek you are
a priest for evermore.”
5 The Lord’s at your right hand;
there he will ever stay.
He on his day of wrath will crush
the kings who bar his way.
6 The nations he will judge;
the dead in heaps will lie.
The mighty of the earth he’ll crush—
all who his rule defy.
