Catechism Class. LD21A Q54 - The Holy Catholic Church #1

Season 2
Catechism Class. Lord’s Day 21A Q54 - The Holy Catholic Church #1With the help of the Heidelberg Catechism, we are still examining that third section of the Apostle’s Creed, which helps us to understand who the Holy Spirit is, and what his work is. Our catechist has taught us about the person and work of the Holy Spirit, and he goes on, with the Creed to expand on the creed’s statement about the Holy Catholic Church. He asks, in Q.54 What do you believe concerning the holy catholic Christian church? The answer we must give is, I believe that the Son of God, out of the whole human race, from the beginning of the world to its end, gathers, defends, and preserves for himself, by his Spirit and Word, in the unity of the true faith, a church chosen to everlasting life. And I believe that I am and forever shall remain a living member of it.There’s a lot in that question and answer, so we start in this episode, by examining the question itself… “The Holy Catholic Church.”Our FEATURED BOOK FOR LORD'S DAY 21 IS "The Beauty and Glory of Christ's Bride" by Joel Beeke.
