1:39 Fight For What You Want With The Uruguayan Professional Footballer Mateo Aramburu

Ep. 139

The remarkable journey of Mateo Aramburu, a footballer whose story transcends borders and embodies the true spirit of resilience. Born in Guatemala and of Uruguayan and English descent, Aramburu's passion for the game has taken him on a whirlwind adventure across continents. He is currently playing for CA Progreso in the Primera División Apertura, Uruguay's top football league.

From showcasing his talent in the football hotbeds of Argentina, England, Germany, the Netherlands, and France, to finding his way back to his roots in Uruguay (where he played on the youth national team) Aramburu's path is one of perseverance and unwavering belief.

Aramburu shares his unedited experiences, discussing the crucial role of confidence and mindset in the world of professional football. We explore how he learned to play with freedom, unleashing his best self on the pitch despite the challenges he faced.

We discuss difficult times without a club, highlighting the importance of maintaining belief and resilience in the face of adversity. As well as finding gratitude in the present moment, rather than constantly chasing the next opportunity. A glimpse into the power of resilience, belief, and gratitude in achieving our dreams, both on and off the field. This is Fight For What You Want with Mateo Aramburu.

    01:07:23
At just 22 years old, Marcelo Palomino has already left an indelible mark on the sport, representing the youth USA national team, gracing the pitches of Major League Soccer with the Houston Dynamo, and now, embarking on a new chapter in the Superettan league in Sweden. Marcelo Palomino is a 22 year old professional soccer player from Houston, Texas. He is currently playing for GIF Sundsvall in Sweden’s 2nd tier, Superettan. After spending his whole youth career with Houston Dynamo, and even making his MLS debut at 19 years old, Marcelo had a few untimely injuries that set him back in Houston. He went on to play one season with Charlotte Independence in the USL Championship followed by one season with Houston Dynamo’s MLS next squad. Marcelo refused to let adversity dampen his spirit. Instead, he viewed these challenges as opportunities for growth and self-discovery. Sensing the call of destiny and fueled by an unyielding desire to reach the pinnacle of European soccer, Marcelo made the courageous decision to pursue his dream abroad. He first signed with AFC Eskilstuna in Sweden’s 2nd tier scoring 5 goals and 3 assist in his first season abroad. This season he is playing for GIF Sundsvall, who are pushing for promotion in to Sweden’s top tier of football. In this episode we talk about dealing with adversity and how it ultimately makes you stronger and better prepared for what’s to come, how much leaving home has helped him grow, why comparison is the thief of joy, the differences between the Superettan and US Soccer, and what the future holds.
