Sorry for My Apology- Ep 22 S1

Season 1, Ep. 22

Taylor and I tackle one thing that never seems to be quite what you expect- apologies. Sometimes we worry ourselves so much and live in our own head that we have more of a fight in our head than what we ever would in real life. So when we continue to allow our brains to fight, if and when we get to the point of apology, we have just a grand idea on what its supposed to be like that it never lives up to what we hope. We are missing a piece because it never feels like it fulfills the whole hole that fight has created. So take a listen and see if what we think rings true to how you feel about apologies. And sorry....if they don't.

  • 28. Cussin' and Discussin' with Caroline- The Gen Z Intern

    28:01
I have a brand new guest with me- Caroline! She is here to help teach us some general Gen Z language and confirm that she knows more slang than I do. Consider this a starter's guide to be able to understand what the young whipper snappers are saying! Enjoy this light hearted episode and maybe learn a new word to use with those young kids to give everyone a chuckle!
  • 27. Weird is Relative

    16:38
Okay- so we all might have a little weird or quirky thing that we like to do. But what one considers weird may not be weird as much as it is just different. So what if we looked at it with a different perspective?  I think those are the things that make us who we are- we are fun and creative and unique. We all are not made with a cookie cutter image so what makes us different should be celebrated. Taylor and I have a short chat about what weird looks like.
  • Fun Fact-a-Thon Patriotic Edition

    24:49
Okay. So this one really was a nice fun break from the doom and gloom the world has to offer right now. We are proud to be American, even if the American Dream is a little unagreed upon at the current moment. Since I try to incorporate a fun fact into every episode, why not bring through a whole bunch in succession. Hope you enjoy it and we have a couple more episodes ready to go soon.
  • Time To Listen- Post Roe and Uvalde

    06:19
This is raw audio. No edits. No changes. No mastering to make it sounds better or filter. I have so much to say, but I also know that its not always the time to speak. Rule 3 for the 7 Habits: Seek First to Understand, THEN to be understood. So this is my time. Take a listen and let me know your thoughts.
  • 24. Accountability is Ownership

    17:42
After an unexpected two week hiatus, we are back. One thing that we all deal with in life is accountability, but what if instead of looking at is as just consequences, we took a new look as it by ownership. You can't force someone into accountability and achieve better results by consequences only. They do have to find a way to take ownership of doing the right thing when others aren't there watching or there to tell you what to do. So what does that look like in work and in life? Take a listen and join us in the conversation.
  • 23. You're Worth It- Selfcare is NOT Selfish

    29:08
The journey we all take together can be tiresome and exhausting. The world has us pulling in so many different directions. Sometimes we have to take a minute and just hit pause. Some people will call that selfish, and others understand. That is what we are talking about- taking the time you need to get good. That may look like meditation, yoga, breathing, working out, sleeping, talking with a doctor, or something else completely. Take a listen and hear it when we say- You're Worth It. Take the time you need and if you need someone to talk to, reach out, to someone and start that conversation- no matter how hard.
  • 21. How to Deal with the Karens/Chads of the World

    22:03
Okay. So this is more of an opportunity to share some fun stories about the Karens/Chads we had in our lives, but I think we did provide some great skills you can use to make your life a little better when having to deal with people for a living or not. We talk about acknowledge, apologize, and alleviate. In that order. This is one skill that if you learn can save you so much trouble and help explain why sometimes we can turn into a Karen/Chad ourselves.
  • Repeat: Ride or Die and Therapy- Repost

    30:29
Sometimes life happens. After reflecting on this last week, it was long one! Hopefully your week has been great but if not, that is okay too. It's okay to not be okay. Figured this would be a good week for a repost of one of our favorite episodes. Ride or Die and Therapy. Finding someone to talk to when things are rough is important. We are not meant to do life alone. And when those things that are too much begin to become hard to talk to your friends with, then find a professional to talk to and someone that can help you through. This world it a tough place and its okay to ask for help. If you are in need of someone to talk to, reach out to someone. You can reach out to our email at toanextent@yahoo.com. You can DM us on Facebook at to.an.extend.podcast. Just know that there is always someone willing to listen and someone to help carry that "burden". You are not in this alone.
