Episode 2.3. Victoria MacKenzie - For Thy Great Pain Have Mercy on My Little Pain

Season 2, Ep. 3

In this episode of Confessions of a Debut Novelist, I’m talking to Victoria MacKenzie about her historical novel For Thy Great Pain Have Mercy on My Little Pain. Having heard about Victoria’s achievements, you’d assume getting an agent and a book deal would be easy but in this episode, Victoria explains why it wasn’t that straight-forward. We also discuss how she was inspired by a woman from history who we know little about and how writing the novel she wanted to read allowed it to pour out of her in a matter of months.
