Men’s football has a problem. After Benjamin Mendy was found not guilty of rape and attempted rape, there followed an extraordinary outpouring of support on social media from fellow professionals. In spite of the horrific statistics about sexual assault and vanishingly low conviction rates, footballers chose to use their voices for this, and it was a dark day to be a female football fan. On this episode, Rosa is joined by Chris from Proud Lilywhites, Lauren from Goal Diggers, and Caroline and Rachel from N17 Women for a necessary conversation about misogyny in football, what this means for us as fans, and what, if anything, can be done.
