  • 10. Al Aseel

    29:36
This week we took a visit to the Australian award winning Lebanese restaurant Al Aseel (metaphorically speaking that is). With 22 years under their belt it comes as no surprise that the restaurant has venues in 6 different locations. Making our way to the Alexandria venue, we were certainly not prepared for what lay in store. The menu is filled with an overwhelming amount of tasty Lebanese dishes and the square footage of the venue would fill any covid marshals social distancing dreams. With not even an article from Broadsheet on this place you know it’s as traditional as they come.
  • 9. 678 Korean BBQ

    28:22
Please note: This episode was recorded prior to Sydney’s current lockdown. This week we embarked on Bea’s first Korean BBQ. And all we can say is thank the lord for Libby. A little PSA for everyone out there who is also thinking about enjoying Korean BBQ, make sure you have at least one party who knows what they are actually doing. There will be fire, coal, scissors, spatulas, and self-adjusting Range-hoods.Coined as a global franchise introducing Korean flavours to the world, 678 Korean BBQ resides in Sydney’s CBD. Not to be confused with the one in Haymarket, as two parties warned multiple times.Once you do make it, you’ll find yourself walking into traditional inspired interiors that are hosting meat with a shy marbling score of eight plus. Listen now to hear the drama unfold…

  • 7. Kickin'Inn

    40:18
This week we headed to Zetland to visit one of the many, much loved Kickin'Inn restaurants. The story of Kickin'Inn starts back in 2017 in Dubai when two friends Sami, a fast-food chain owner, and Ravi, a management consultant, came up with a plan to spread fresh, high-quality seafood at affordable prices throughout Australia. The pair have transformed the seafood dining experience by removing cutlery and plates, replacing them with mallets and scissors. Kickin'Inn is no ordinary seafood restaurant, the tables were topped with fresh white paper table cloths which then were covered in bags upon bags of juicy red seafood poured onto the table. This experience is not for the faint-hearted – tune in to hear what we thought.Disclaimer: This episode was recorded before Sydney went into a snap lockdown.
  • 6. Franca Brasserie

    36:46
Lights, camera, action! Because it literally felt like we were on the set of a movie walking into Franca Brassiere. The dim lighting, green leather booths and effortless charm simply had us transported. Located on the iconic MacLeay St Potts Point, Franca Brasserie is not your classic French Brasserie. The menu orchestrated by former Bathers Pavilion head chef Alexis Besseau favours the modern and Mediterranean showcasing regional France and neighbouring coastal towns. With a 2.5 million dollar fit out this venue brought to us by Andrew Becher of Double Bay's Pelicano leaves little to the imagination and you simply must get there.
  • 5. Ria Pizza + Wine

    32:10
As autumn reaches cold peaks we thought what better way to warm ourselves than to indulge in some hearty Italian food. We know what you’re thinking, wow they’re at Italian again. But...our dear friends, this is not just any Italian joint. Perched up on Macleay St in Potts Point lives a restaurant that goes by the name of Ria Pizza + Wine. This beauty is part of the Bentley group and lives up to its siblings reputation. With an interior that’s been flicked with fluoro paint and an industrial sculpture that hangs from the centre of the room the aesthetics are fully engaged. Coined as an Australia styled pizza venue you’ll find your Queensland prawns, octopus from WA and saltbush (not to be mistaken for kale).
