The42.ie’s Gavan Casey is back to give us a preview on Katie Taylor’s upcoming fight against Karen Carabajal this Saturday in London.

 

Katie puts all her word lightweight titles on the line against the unbeaten Argentinian although she isn’t expected to cause too many problems for the Irish Olympic Gold medalist.

 

Although we usually only cover Irish topics or Irish sporting events in America….I felt it was worth keeping tabs on Katie this weekend given she is based in Connecticut and of course has fought stateside many times before.

 

Gavan also gives us insight into why the Amanda Serrano rematch in Croke Park didn’t materialize this year and he tells us if he thinks that megafight will happen next year…… Or Will we see Katie trading leather with the likes of MMA super Kris Cyborg back in Madison Square Garden or in Las Vegas.

 

We also look back on the sensational success of Ireland's female boxers at the European Championships last weekend with gold for Kellie Harrington, Amy Broadhurst and Aoife O’Rourke.

 

As listeners know, the podcasts have been a bit sporadic over the last few months and that’s basically because I’ve been tied up myself playing Gaelic football here in New York.

 

The season has now ended so I hope to get back up to speed with things here. I’m hoping to do a podcast at least once every 2 weeks, likely to be released midweek on a wed or Thursday.
