Ben Atkinson, delves into the story of the story of the Carter Family and their first, iconic recording sessions including the song 'Keep On The Sunny Side' which would go on to become the theme song for group for many years to come.Ben is a writer and presenter, based in the UK. He has been presenting the independent radio programme Ben's Country Music Show on radio stations across the UK, Ireland and Australia since 2008. Ben is currently studying for his PhD in Music at the University of Lincoln, where his research thesis deals with gender bias issues and the representation of women in modern American country music. The Country Lives podcast, is a companion to Ben's Country Music Show, a country music radio programme broadcast on stations across the UK and Ireland each week.
