Empress of Intersectionality

In honor of Black History Month, Alana & Jackie will be spotlighting three African American feminists who have made great strides in the fight for female equality. First up is the woman who quite literally changed the way we talk about race & gender. She coined a phrase that provides a prism for understanding when conversations combining gender and race occur. Her work is especially noteworthy because it breaks out of the confines of African American studies, and is applicable to most other genders and marginalized groups. Who is this wonderful woman?
