3 Beers And A Movie

Another busy week of movie watching, almost like the weather is turning and we are inside a lot watching movies. We start with Apple+ buddy comedy with a Cold War twist 'Mayday', at the cinema we get interested in meteorology during WWII with 'Pressure' then we head to Hollywood for all the silliness of 'Gail Daughtry And The Celebrity Sex Pass'. Amazon Prime offers survival thriller 'Agony', political intrigue in 'The Wizard In The Kremlin' and we finish with Sky Cinema offering 'The History Of Sound'

A lot of films this week, one of us gets to the cinema starting with a new take on an old legend 'The Death Of Robin Hood', a film rescued from the oblivion 'Coyote vs Acme' and the newest Australian horror offering 'Leviticus'. We then catch a couple of streaming efforts, starting on Prime Video with Gal Gadot thriller 'The Runner' and we finish with man v nature monster movie offering 'Hungry'

We start the show this week by saying goodbye a trio of legends who brought only joy to the world, Dolly Parton, Tim Curry and Peter Cullen who all passed this week (Reaper you took out the wrong 80year olds).When we get into the movies we talk about possible Academy Award contender 'The Invite', emotional drama 'H Is For Hawk' on Netflix, creature feature 'Killer Whale' on Prime Video, post apocalyptic novel adaptation from Ridley Scott 'The Dog Stars', Prime video sci-fi offering 'Signal One' and we finish with crime drama with a star studded cast 'The Whisper Man'

A little late as one of us has been going from Gotham to Aberdeen and back this weekWe talk about documentary 'Breakdown:1975' that catalogues a hell of a year in American cinema, very talky drama 'Miss You, Love You', Amazon Primes constant search for content gives us all scifi/drama 'Lookout', sweet natured teen drama 'Don't Say Good Luck' and we finish with the latest Jason Statham joint 'Mutiny'

One of us has been off so has been busy watching everything, we start with recent Jason Statham offering where he is once again playing a retired special forces soldier with a heart of gold in 'Shelter', we stay in the highlands with Peter Mullan 'The Fall Of Sir Douglas Weatherford', we then travel to Brazil for 'Beast Race', the globe trotting continues with a trip to Italy for drama 'La Chimera' and we finish by going back in time ...way back with 'The End Of Oak Street'

This week we catch up on a few lesser seen movies as the cinema is still dominated by the big hitters and all the screens are being swallowed up.We watch British indie time travel/drama 'Rose Of Nevada', heavy emotional drama with a heavyweight performance from Daniel Day Lewis 'Anemone', hot air balloon thriller on Prime Video 'Turbulence', Sky cinema action thriller 'Seven Snipers' and we end with an end of the world mystery 'The Last House'

One of us is silly enough to spend an evening watching 'Scary Movie 6' and he deeply deeply regrets every second of it. We then watch podcast favourite Maika Monroe in thriller 'In Cold Light', Kate Beckinsale is back with action thriller in 'Wildcat', Apple+ comedy/romance 'The Drip' and we finish what many are calling 'the cinema event of the year' with the return of Christopher Nolan with an all-star cast, telling the epic tale of 'The Odyssey'.

We do talk about movies this week starting with parallel universe hopping offering 'Redux Redux', Canadian time travel music duo fare 'Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie', some geriatric action thrills with 'The Last Stand Of Ellen Cole' and we finish with sports horror/Lord Of The Flies infused offering 'The Plague' But mostly this episode is us saying goodbye to a favourite, Dr Alan Grant himself, Mr Sam Neill. We felt this loss deeply, a man who embraced life, brought immense joy and love to the world and was a damn fine actor. He will be greatly missed.
