#242: Stopping the rot

Season 8, Ep. 14

Despite his therapist’s advice (apparently six losses on the bounce are NOT good for the soul), our man on the northern beat, Mr Ian Street, meandered across the Pennines to bring you his unique reporting on Newport’s trip to Tranmere.

Poor Ian’s gone through the motions today, watching us concede a howler and yet stop the rot with a decent away point, joined by the usual reprobates.

LIVE EVENT NOTICE: We'll be recording live from the Riverside after the Gillingham match next weekend - do head over and join us!

As always, you can contact us via your social media platform of choice, and you can also donate as little as £2 via our ko-fi page towards our running costs - with a special gift coming next month for all monthly contributors. • 25. #253: Fuchs' around, find out!

    35:19||Season 8, Ep. 25
    A pod of two halves for you again, in what has been a momentous week for Newport County. In Part 1, Ed asks Jamie for his initial reaction to County's new manager announcement, and we also rifle through listeners' reactions to the appointment of Christian Fuchs. Then, in Part 2, Ed reports from an ultimately dispiriting loss at Oldham, catching up along the way with Ollie, Mark, Jane & Silvers. Whilst being as positive as they can about what the new manager might bring, there's also no sugar-coating just how desperate things look for a County side rooted to the bottom of the Fourth Division, and now five points from safety.We'd welcome your thoughts, as always, so do contact us via your social media platform of choice. • 21. #249: Old school 4-4-2

    29:09||Season 8, Ep. 21
    Well my goodness, where did that come from? Ian's at the helm at what is now a happy stomping ground in Harrogate away. Featuring Dave (YrAlltudion) and Iwan, it's a classic matchday diary away in another northern town.After the doom and gloom of the last episode, it's welcoming to have some more uplifting tones. Ian's now seen two away wins this month - did the move to a classic 4-4-2 do the trick? Has that 'league of three' at the bottom of the table got a little bit bigger? Has Ian got the bovril stains out of his jeans? Only time will tell.Do contact us via your social media platform of choice if you have anything you want to share. • 20. #248: Where now?

    28:30||Season 8, Ep. 20
    Rhys sat down on Sunday night with Ed and Ian to read the runes after Newport County's humbling by Cheltenham Town, and to ask the big questions.Can Dave Hughes keep his job? What will happen if he goes? Where does our defensive injury crisis leave us? Can we still be in contention for survival come January? Is there even money to strengthen if we are? Is our situation more akin to a bad episode of Ready, Steady Cook or to Icarus?It's not an uplifting listen, but it is an important reality check - one which ends with a rare Ian Street poetry reading (this time it's Resignation by Lostling).Do contact us via your social media platform of choice if you have anything you want to share. • 18. #246: Back to back

    21:26||Season 8, Ep. 18
    A pod of two halves. Ed kicks things off, giving his reaction to County's win over Cardiff in the Football League Trophy, on his cycle home from the game. Then, in Part 2, he hands the reins over to Ian to nervously describe County nursing their way through to a 1-0 away victory at Accrington. Back-to-back wins, and perhaps finally some cause for optimism amongst the fanbase?Do contact us via your social media platform of choice if you have anything you want to share.
