#171: In the eye of the media storm
In a highly unusual move, we're dropping an episode on a Saturday and bringing you another belting interview. In this one, Jamie speaks with Chris Kirwan (of the South Wales Argus) and Louis Cartwright-Walls (Media Manager for Newport County AFC) about being at the centre of the media storm during our FA Cup tie with Manchester United. They discuss having to stay professional when all around them were getting carried away with the hype, the mixed feelings towards the journos turning up to Rodney Parade as one-off day-trippers, and their matchday routines.
Be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn and send us your thoughts and questions. You can contribute a voicenote via our Speakpipe page or donate the price of a Bovril towards our running costs through our ko-fi account. Thanks as always to Tinty & The Bucket Hats for letting us use Discoland as our theme, and to all of you for listening.

38:07||Season 7, Ep. 24Ian and Ed bring you the first episode of a new era, as the 1912 Exiles join the Teras media group stable. As we explain, this will make little difference to your experience as a listener, but we’re excited about working with some really great people to hopefully grow the podcast’s reach in Wales. The bulk of the episode is a bit of a stocktake, as we divine what fans have learned from three successive 0-0 draws, and how County might break the deadlock with games coming up against Wimbledon and Carlisle. We also look back on our interview with Nelson Jardim, and what the big takeaways were.Don’t forget, you can now find us on Bluesky and Mastodon as well as yer Twitters, yer Facebooks, yer LinkedInsand yer YouTubes.
