Your Friend’s Success is Not Your Failure

Do you find yourself getting jealous over the accomplishments of your friends?  Or, maybe not jealous, but their success puts you in the dumps? Answering the call of a young actor, Matt suggests that a better path to success and happiness is actually to find joy in the victories of your friends, and sometimes even those of your “sworn enemies”. He also celebrates the fact that his book publishes tomorrow and admits to feelings of vulnerability surrounding its release.

Monday Morsels are the short-form companion to our Friday Interviews of 10,000 "No"s... brief riffs on the show's central topics & themes as food for thought to chew on throughout your week.

Lorraine Bracco: You Have to Make the Oatmeal Every Morning

Lorraine Bracco has been nominated for an Academy Award as well as multiple Golden Globes and Emmy Awards. She was a major force in one of the greatest films of all time, Goodfellas and one of the greatest TV shows of all time, The Sopranos. She has won multiple Screen Actors Guild Awards and even has her own show on HGTV, the hilarious and heartfelt My Big Italian Adventure. But at the end of the day, when I asked her how she's lasted the test of time in one of the toughest industries around, including weathering two divorces, she said, "you have to make the oatmeal every morning." I've known her for almost 20 years, worked with her on two shows and never caught even a pretentious millisecond from her. She's beautiful, makes me laugh, tells it like it is and gives me some backstory on Goodfellas before we exchange our own personal stories about the late, great James Gandolfini and his tremendous talent and heart. You don't want to miss this one.It is not the critic who counts. If you’ve been knocked down... get up, dust yourself off, and get back in the arena. If you want to give back, share this with someone who could use it and leave a 5-star review on Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen, so more people can find this show and benefit from these conversations.SHOW LINKS:10,000 NOs: THE BOOKJOIN THE 10,000 NOs TRIBEFOLLOW MATT ON SOCIALONE ON ONE MENTORSHIPGUEST LINKS:IMDb FILM/TV CREDITSWIKIPEDIA
