Lorraine Bracco: You Have to Make the Oatmeal Every Morning

Lorraine Bracco has been nominated for an Academy Award as well as multiple Golden Globes and Emmy Awards. She was a major force in one of the greatest films of all time, Goodfellas and one of the greatest TV shows of all time, The Sopranos. She has won multiple Screen Actors Guild Awards and even has her own show on HGTV, the hilarious and heartfelt My Big Italian Adventure. But at the end of the day, when I asked her how she's lasted the test of time in one of the toughest industries around, including weathering two divorces, she said, "you have to make the oatmeal every morning." I've known her for almost 20 years, worked with her on two shows and never caught even a pretentious millisecond from her. She's beautiful, makes me laugh, tells it like it is and gives me some backstory on Goodfellas before we exchange our own personal stories about the late, great James Gandolfini and his tremendous talent and heart. You don't want to miss this one.

Art Williams, Influencing with Dopeness in the Black Community

When you're as stylish and classy as Art Williams, you can get away with an Instagram handle like @thedopeinfluencer. But survival was the only thing on Art's mind in the first twelve years of his life. Well, survival, football and, eventually barbershops. Now a staple in Portland's black community, Art is not only the owner of a successful barbershop that is extensively involved in charities and programs that help minorities level up, he does double duty as the personal barber to former 10,000 NOs podcast guest, Actor Aldis Hodge. A former professional football player, Art travels back and forth from far-off sets not allowing them to prevent him from being a major influence of stability in a formerly challenged community. When he's not busy cutting hair, he is constantly inspiring others to exceed the expectations of their given circumstances the way he did.It is not the critic who counts. Love Requires Vulnerability But So Does Toughness

When my friend and past guest Matt Long, one of the toughest guys I know who has been through more than most humans should go through, dropped by to speak to the 10,000 NOs Insiders Community at the end of January, he shocked the group. Expecting this former New York City firefighter turned Ironman turned Near-Death Crash Victim turned Speaker/Author to come in beating his chest, all the members were shocked by his central topic: Vulnerability. Despite popular opinion, being vulnerable doesn't make you "soft". The ability to show vulnerability is a sign of strength and the key to everything from relationships to parenting to career success.Monday Morsels are the short-form companion to our Friday Interviews of 10,000 "No"s... brief riffs on the show's central topics & themes as food for thought to chew on throughout your week.It is not the critic who counts.
