Lorraine Bracco: You Have to Make the Oatmeal Every Morning

Lorraine Bracco has been nominated for an Academy Award as well as multiple Golden Globes and Emmy Awards. She was a major force in one of the greatest films of all time, Goodfellas and one of the greatest TV shows of all time, The Sopranos. She has won multiple Screen Actors Guild Awards and even has her own show on HGTV, the hilarious and heartfelt My Big Italian Adventure. But at the end of the day, when I asked her how she's lasted the test of time in one of the toughest industries around, including weathering two divorces, she said, "you have to make the oatmeal every morning." I've known her for almost 20 years, worked with her on two shows and never caught even a pretentious millisecond from her. She's beautiful, makes me laugh, tells it like it is and gives me some backstory on Goodfellas before we exchange our own personal stories about the late, great James Gandolfini and his tremendous talent and heart. @onefunnymommy Lisa Marie Riley: F Cancer & Choose Laughter

When Lisa Marie Riley found out her husband had an aggressive 8lb tumor in his stomach after complaining of a stomach ache, her sister and friends set up an Instagram account for her and told her that, instead of texting them on their group chat (which she hated), she could just post videos to Instagram for them to see. One subsequent TikTok video went viral (5M views) and now she's helping a combined 500K followers across both platforms laugh their way through the "current s%#t show" of COVID as she fights to do anything besides cave into cancer in front of her husband and three kids. Full of expletives (ear muffs for kids please), hysterical rants and a moving revelation about her three year old son's morning ritual that forces her daily to rise to the occasion, this off-the-cuff conversation jettisoned past a long line of previously recorded episodes to be the first episode of our 2021 slate. If there's one thing we all need right now it's laughter. It is not the critic who counts. If you’ve been knocked down... get up, dust yourself off, and get back in the arena. If you want to give back, share this with someone who could use it and leave a 5-star review on Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen, so more people can find this show and benefit from these conversations.SHOW LINKS:10,000 NOs: THE BOOKJOIN THE 10,000 NOs TRIBEFOLLOW MATT ON SOCIALONE ON ONE MENTORSHIPGUEST LINKS:Instagram (@onefunnymommy)TikTok (@onefunnymommy)
